Well i don't have much to say, these things are a bit difficult over the net. I guess the theory is all fine and dandy, but so it usually is and things can be called by many names. Language is a trap and a fake reality. It needs to be felt and tested. I have only met one person in my life that can actually use these kinds of principles in real time, in an aggressive situation, that is my teacher. It's all very interesting, but in my mind it all boils down to does one really have it when the shit hits the fan, then things tend to become quite simple intellectually.

I think Lasse mentioned you Rotor some time ago, you had met him in a bar. And i recognised your name as one of Timos students? Lasse recommended me to come see you at kisahalli the next day, but my training time was a bit late so i missed you. Maybe we will meet some day in the future . But I don't think i can join your group at this time anyway, my efforts are going into the stuff my teacher Lü Baochun teaches and recently a bit of Timos teachings.

Some guys are making this look more difficult than it is. I contacted rotor and we went training. That was it. That was easy. We went to Helsinki. I live closer to Helsinki than him. He was nice enough to take the time and travel all the way from Hyvinkää.

I also recommend the gathering in Tampere. It has always been a blast! I haven't looked at the schedule but probably at least something could be demonstrated. But that's not as important as the beer and company there!

Veli KungFuMiäs puhuu vähän mutta asiaa.

Käväisin alkuviikosta Hyvinkäällä ja siunautui mahdollisuus käpälöidä ja töniä toisiamme Rotorin kanssa lähipuistossa parin tunnin ajan. Kirjoitan vaikutelmani tämän pohjalta (hänen pyynnöstään) tänne Potkuunkin.

MIelestäni se mitä näin heidän tyylistään on yksityiskohtainen, helposti avautuvilla käsitteillä harjoitettava analyysi eräänlaisesta edistyneemmästä "salaisesta" voimankäytön tavasta, joka oman käsitykseni ja kokemukseni mukaan on enempi tai vähempi päässyt katoamaan matkan varrelle suurimmasta osasta moderneja japanilaisia kamppailulajikoulukuntia.

Homman oppiminen tuolla systeemillä vie varmasti aikaa, keskittymistä ja säännöllistä harjoittelua, mutta arvioisin että rotor pystyy ihan täysipainoisesti "siirtämään" (ts. opettamaan) tuota systeemiä siitä kiinnostuneille. Tai siis sama asia toisin sanoin; aloittelijakin pystyy hänen kanssaan harjoiteltuaan uskoakseni hyvin nopeasti itse näkemään, arvioimaan ja koeponnistamaan sen että mitä tuossa oikein opetellaan ja mikä on odotettavissa oleva tulos. Tämä siis poikkeuksena esimerkiksi siitä että harjoittelisi ki-juttuja vuosikausia tehden vain esim. powertest- temppuja kuten yhdelläjalalla seisoskelua ennen havaittavia tuloksia ja joutuisi sinä aikana vain luottamaan vahvaan uskoon että "kyllä tästä on vielä hyötyä kun opettajakin on niin taitava ja se on tehnyt näitä samoja juttuja".

Suosittelen erityisesti tekemiseensä "sitä jotakin" kaipaaville jujutsu-ukoille ja mahdollisesti myös aloitteleville aikidokoille, jotka haluavat panostaa melko introspektiiviseen harjoitteluun.

I do think this method is relevant to my interests I've decided to take on aikido for this autumn (and future), and since I'm essentially looking for an effective martial body, the aiki you describe is very likely exactly THE thing that I need.

I have read Dans writings from aikiweb forums and i was wondering is there same kind of internal power principles or connection`s which Dan teaches in aiki, what for example Hiroshi Ikeda sensei teaches in aikido? Why i am asking this is that i read some writing where these two names popped up whose teaching`s people should get familiar if they want to learn aikido in USA and learn how to use internal power

There is maybe some relationship at the level of internal power, but it starts to diverge wildly once you work on aiki as a way of moving. I have only studied with Ikeda a few times, but I can't knock his ability because he has more power than I do by a mile. I just far prefer Dan's teaching model.

Yeah that`s the main point on the journey of training. Find the right teachers for yourself. That`s why Ikeda`s first visit in Finland 2011 was a really eyeopening in my own aikidotraining. Before that nobody hasnt told anything about of these kind of things.

Setin hyvyydestä en tiedä, kun en tuosta saanut juurikaan mitään irti, mutta tuo vanhempi hamehemmo on todella ärsyttävä. Varsinkin tuossa ekassa videossa, kun sen pitää todistella olevansa kovempi kun verkkarimies. VErkkarimies kertoo myös josain videossa olevansa MMA opettaja. Menisin ehkä MMAssa kuitenkin jonkun muun oppiin tämän setin perusteella...
